Description: 22,000-seat MLS Stadium Client: AEG, Brener International Group, Golden Boy Promotions Architect: PopulousCM/GC: Manhattan Construction Company Project Cost: $95,000,000 Status: Completed - May 12, 2012

ICON was initially hired to determine the feasibility of designing and building an MLS stadium for a fixed $75 million budget. With feasibility confirmed, the Houston Dynamo broke ground on the stadium in February 2011. The stadium is located in downtown Houston, within walking distance of Minute Maid Park, the George R. Brown Convention Center, and the Toyota Center. In addition to soccer games, the new stadium can host football games, concerts, boxing matches and more.

BBVA Compass Stadium achieved LEED Silver certification in December 2012, making it the first MLS Soccer Stadium to receive a LEED Silver rating and the first newly constructed LEED Silver sports facility in the city of Houston.

The ICON team was critical to the success of our project in so many ways. With so many buildings of this type in their portfolio, it was easy for me to trust that their recommendations and actions were informed by years of experience and success. No other owner’s representative could provide that level of expertise to our ownership group.
