The Georgia World Congress Center Authority, as owner, and Atlanta Falcons, as developer are partnering on the development of a new multipurpose state-of-the-art, entertainment and sports stadium on the Georgia World Congress Center campus. ICON Venue Group served as Project Manager for the new 1.8 million sf stadium throughout the preconstruction phase of the project.

The most impressive design feature is the retractable roof, which is comprised of eight petal-like panels that can open and close to let in various amounts of sunlight. The roof will allow the stadium to be climate-controlled and used for both indoor and outdoor events. The stadium will offer numerous fan and guest amenities and include state-of-the-art technologies such as an innovative halo video board surrounding the retractable roof.

Scheduled to open for the 2017 NFL Season, the new stadium features 71,000 seats, expandable to 75,000 for a Super Bowl or 83,000 for the NCAA Final Four.
