Once in a Millennium
At 20,000 seats, The O2 is the anchor of a large entertainment district underneath the roof of the former Millennium Dome. When built, this massive-scale “ship in a bottle” had never before been attempted. With no clearance inside the dome to use tower cranes to erect its superstructure, the team built the arena from the top down.
The O2 immediately became the most spectacular arena in the world and the first ever venue to be named by Pollstar as “Best New Concert Venue” and “Best International Arena of the Year” in the same year.
