A New Era

The Pittsburgh Penguins retained CAA ICON to provide project management services for their new $321 million arena. With experience representing both public and private sector clients, CAA ICON helped foster the critical relationship between the Sports and Exhibition Authority (SEA) and the Penguins. The 18,500-seat arena features 68 suites, four party suites, 2,000 club seats, and 236 loge box seats.

Taking the Lead

The project team guided the new PPG Paints Arena (formerly CONSOL Energy Center) to become the first LEED Gold sports arena ever built and blazed a new trail in sustainable design strategies for all other new sports venues. In its first year of operation, the venue became the “Best NHL Arena” in the sixth annual Sports Business Journal readers’ survey and was given the “New Concert Venue of the Year” award by Pollstar.
