Description: Renovation of baseball stadium to meet MLS requirements Team: Portland Timbers (MLS) Owner: Peregrine Sports Architect: AECOM Ellerbe Becket CM/GC: Turner Construction Budget: $37,000,000 Status: Completed - April 14, 2011

The renovation of PGE Park, to become JELD-WEN Field (now Providence Park), consisted primarily of construction of a new 3500-seat outfield infill to adjust the venue’s configuration from baseball to soccer. The addition added club seats and club restaurant space and completed the traditional “horseshoe” shape of the majority of MLS complexes, which created an intimate stadium experience in the downtown urban core. Renovations to the restrooms and locker rooms in the existing facility were also completed. The renovation of the 85-year-old downtown facility earned LEED Silver status from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Our stadium renovation project was an extremely complex project on a very tight timeline.  ICON Venue Group delivered a terrific facility ahead of schedule and navigated a challenging political process successfully.
